Christmas is coming!!

Yes, now I know it’s only September and none of us want to think about that far off festival for a while, but, actually, I have to.

Printmaking is a time consuming process and in order to have new designs cut, printed and, where applicable, commercially printed as cards, one has to be ahead of the game.

This year I am taking part in two well attended Christmas Fairs. Save these dates! Firstly, with the Bix Six, who I exhibited with earlier this year during Henley Arts Week…that’s on Saturday 25th/ Sunday 26th November…a good Christmas shopping weekend.

In December, on Saturday 9th/ Sunday 10th, I will be selling my prints at Waterperry Gardens, near Oxford, as part of their Christmas event. Come and see me there!!

How about Private Classes?

Chine Colle

Lotus seed head printed on calico

Great to meet Amy and Ros yesterday who came for a private lino  cutting   and printing workshop. Working really hard throughout the day they produced great designs of very high standard for a first attempt.

In the morning we started with coffee and cake and a chat about what would be covered during the day. Amy and Ros practiced with the lino tools before starting on their designs to get an idea of what each one can achieve. Designs were cut carefully during the morning ready for printing after lunch.

Homemade Summer Garden Soup with nutty bread

A variety of Cheeses and fruit

Coffee and (more) cake

Replete and nourished we started printed in a variety of colours and on different backgrounds throughout the afternoon. These included paper ,tissue, calico. Amy is going on to a free motion embroidery course in a few weeks and is planning to stitch into her lotus head and her mum’s poppy design….there is so much that can be done with printing.

If you are interested in your own private workshop for between one and four people, please contact me on

SO busy!

April is proving to be hard work but I love being busy!

My work is currently showing as part of the Oxford Printmaker’s Co-operative Exhibition,40 Years On at the County Museum in Woodstock. It’s a lovely venue with a beautiful garden, café and great museum. The work is on show until the end of the month so try and get along to see it.

From 29th April-1st May I will have a stall in Bix Village Hall selling my prints and showing as part of the Henley Arts Trail, along with the group of artists called the Bix Six ( sounds a bit like a jazz band!!) My daughter and a friend will be helping me out there as I am also running a lino printing and chine colle course at the Robin’s Nest Gallery,in Wargrave on Sunday 30th April from 10am-4pm. If you are interested then please get in touch with Jo at the gallery.
