Carpe Diem!

What fantastic weather and a wonderful warm Spring day. Life drawing at Haddon Acre Yurt was a real experience. Eight of us gathered inside where it was amazingly warm ( perhaps a bit too warm for those of us who were clothed) and snug to develop skills at life drawing.

Some quick drawing exercises helped get the eyes trained for more sustained work in a variety of media such as charcoal, pencil, coloured pastels and watercolour.

Lunch was eaten in the field kitchen behind the yurt and we all chatted and listened to the birdsong. Seizing the moment I decided that it might be great to work outside in the sun, so WE DID! This presented a few problems such as reflection off the paper initially but we soon got used to it.

Everyone agreed that they had enjoyed themselves, which in my view is the most important thing, and the results displayed an amazing variety of styles…well done everyone!!!!!

Two places are available for the class on 20th April. Contact me at shirleymeyer@btinternet.com for information.
